As in the examples:




  • I’ll just do the maximum possible and I am happy with that.

  • He thought he was smart to save everything and do the minimum.


I can not find out the meanings of them.



P/S:




  • "do the maximum" means "try the best"?

  • "do the minimum" means "do as litle as possible"?
