How is the sentence grammatically incorrect?

0

Here are two sentences that I have trouble with. The first one was written prior to the second one, and I believe it's not grammatically accurate. However, I have a hard time figuring out what is wrong with it.

  1. I declare and crystallize the idea as for my own sake, as I would not like to think that I had navigated a life void if sophistication and of observation for nearly twenty years without ever getting the hang of it.

  2. I declare and crystallize the idea as for my own sake, as I would not like to think that I had navigated a life void of sophistication and observation without understanding and contemplation for nearly twenty years.

And I would like to know if there's any other way to paraphrase the sentence properly without changing the meaning of it.
