How to determine the host a server is running on?

0

I'm trying to get an emulator to work in an iOS project which has a baseURL which is configured from environment variables. However, I suspect that the emulator is not working properly.

To verify this, I'd like to check whether the base URL the server is serving at is the same as the one the emulator is pointing to. What I have is SSH access to the server, which is a Tornado application.

Is it possible to check this? All I've come up with so far is:

In [7]: socket.gethostbyname(socket.gethostname())
Out[7]: '127.0.0.1'

which points to the local host. How do I find out the host name the server is serving at?
