Add Click Event to a dynamically built LinkButton in GridView-RowDataBound Event does not work
I am building a LinkButton on runtime in a Gridview during the RowDataBound Event. The code works partially but the click event that I add is not fired correctly. The column with the LinkButtons just disappears on click.
protected void GridViewSkill_OnRowDataBound(object sender, GridViewRowEventArgs e)
{
if (e.Row.RowType == DataControlRowType.DataRow)
{
for (int i = 12; i <= Convert.ToInt16(LabelColumnsCount.Text); i++)
{
if(!string.IsNullOrEmpty(e.Row.Cells[i].Text))
{
LinkButton lb = new LinkButton();
lb.ID = "LB_" + i.ToString();
lb.Text = e.Row.Cells[i].Text;
lb.CommandArgument = e.Row.Cells[i].Text;
lb.Click += new EventHandler(GetRoleDetail);
e.Row.Cells[4].Controls.Add(lb);
}
}
}
}
The amount of controls created depends on a DataBase query; therefore they can't be created on the Page OnInit event as I read somewhere.
