ActiveDirectoryMembershipProvider configured for using secure connection, but communicates on port 389 also
We are using Microsoft ActiveDirectoryMembershipProvider for authenticating our WCF service clients. The provider is configured for using Secure connection, but unfortunately when it's initialize executes, first it communicates on port 636, but later it starts to communicate on the non secure channel, on port 389 (and 445 as well). It was a huge torture to make our client to open port 445. Of course port 636 is also opened, but it is not enough for this provider and we can't find a documented reason, why it happens. We made our test using WhireShark.
Can someone help us to understand this mystery?
How can we make this provider not to use unsecure channel on port 389?
Thanks in advance!
