Office Fabric UI React - Remove selected people from the pciker & wait for list

I'm trying to create a people picker using the Office UI Fabric React components.
Everything works fine with 2 exceptions:
1 - I need to add a 3000 resolvedelay because i'm getting my people list from a rest api call (with axios). Is there any way to wait on the resolve until i populate my react state with the people list returned from the api?
At the moment i start getting people when onResolveSuggestions
triggers and i add a resolveDelay={3000}
so my peopleList
state can get populated (im pushing into an array). I've tried doing it in the onInputChange
and i tried different methods (such as await and stuff), but i am making 2 api calls. One searches for the user (at a specific endpoint) and another one assigns an id to that user (more like gets a hidden ID). After the 2nd call i create my peopleList
array which gets filtered by onResolveSuggestions
. Without the delay the people picker is empty (if i re-enter the same search input it gets loaded because it was already added to the array).
2 - With my resolveDelay={3000}
it works and i can add people to the field by clicking on the suggestions. My problem here is that upon adding them into the field i trigger the onItemSelected
function that creates a new array of currentSelectedItems
. The array gets populated and all is good....BUT...i can't find a way to remove a user from the array.
Basically after the user is added into the field (and into the array), i can click on the X from the people picker, but there's no prop that can handle something like onItemRemoved
. Does it have a different name? Is there any workaround? Keep in mind that i'm not talking about onRemoveSuggestion
- that only removes the user from the suggestion list, not after adding it to the field.
Any tip is appreciated, thanks!
