What is the easiest way to check if a week is between two dates?

-1

To explain: I have a sheet with 2 dates for example 23-08-2018 and 10-01-2019. They have the labels StartDate and EndDate.
The thing i am struggleing with is the following.
I need to write a function (boolean) that takes 3 variables: week, startDate and EndDate and then check if the dates contains that week. Does anyone know how to do this? Or can give me a push in the right direction...

Example: Week = 22, StartDate = 22-03-2018 , EndDate = 22-09-2018

Output: True

Explaination: If even one day of the range StartDate - EndDate is within the week is should be true.

Example: Week = 5, StartDate = 22-03-2018 , EndDate = 22-09-2018

Output: False

Explaination: week 5 is from 29-01-2018 to 04-02-2018 so its outside the start and endDate range.

Can you please edit your question to add sample data and expected output. Among other things people are likely to wonder about: what happens is a given week starts before but ends within the given date range?

try the weeknum() function on a given date

  • The problem isnt converting from date to weeknumer. i can do that with Format(date, "ww"). The problem is checkig if a week is between 2 dates.

  • You can use mathematical inequalities once you have the weeknumber to determine whether or not it's between the bounds you have set
