with jemalloc profiler tuned on, all threads are spending lot of time on mutexes and that makes all threads...

I have enabled jemalloc profiler for my process to identify the memory leak. But when I start the process with jemalloc profiler, all threads of the process spend way too much time on mutexes. From strace I can see 98% of the time is spent on mutexes of my application code. The CPU usage of the threads drop from 70% to 7%, so my process starts processing data at very slow pace and leak disappears.
I'm trying to find why would enabling jemalloc profiler slows down my threads, this is on debian.
