Trying to find where Unbuntu stores files

I'm just getting started with Unbuntu. If I type 'ls' I see a list of files, but I can't tell where these files are actually sitting on my machine. I'm using Windows 10. How can I find out where these files are located? I think Unbuntu is like Bash, and I can't find a Unbuntu tag, so I'm tagging Bash instead. Thanks.
