What does “work on your hair” mean in this context?

At the very end of this clip from the sitcom "Full House" Jesse, one of the main characters, says, "Work on your hair!" But it's not clear why he says it to the guys (or one of the guys) leaving. Perhaps, he says it to the man with long hair and it should be funny... Or is it some slang phrase which I don't know?

Here is what he says to the people leaving, after finishing singing (the jingle is not about hair care products):

Good job, fellows! And work on your hair!

For more context it's still necessary to watch the clip, but it's not very long. Thank you!
