Session is going off on multiple page refresh

Ive created an asp.net website that uses vb.net as backend. I have written a condition in page load that checks if session is nothing or not. If nothing auto redirect to login page. My problem is if refresh any page multiple times the session goes off and am redirected to login page. I refresh the page multiple times to check the output as i am in the development process. I tried increasing session timeout - it didnt work. What do i do ? Am afraid if this problem will occur on live published site also.
