By next Christmas, we will have been here for eight years.
Why in this sentence, there is an error in "will have been" ? I know this is wrong then the correct sentence would be -By next Christmas, we will have lived here for eight years.
But why can't the original sentence be correct in future perfect continuous tense?

Welcome to English Language and Usage. I think the original sentence is OK. I believe you need to cite the reason it might be incorrect.

I'm voting to close this question as off-topic because it asks about an alleged ungrammatical sentence which is not actually ungrammatical.
