Is there any difference between conditional sentences type 2 and type 3? Can u Explain please

And tell me if my examples are correct !!!!

If I studied hard, I would pass the exam. ==> Type 2
(This example show that you've still got the chance to study hard and pass the exam)

If I had studied hard, I would have passed the exam.==>Type 3
(This example show that now there's no more chance to study for that exam, because you already did it )
